The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has introduced new rules, banning antibacterial soaps and body washes containing certain ingredients from being marketed and sold.

Throwing water on producers’ claims that antibacterial soaps and body washes are more effective than regular soaps, the federal agency said the ingredients in the affected products weren’t found to be safe for long-term daily use.
