An alliance that contains over 30 technology companies and telecoms has been joined in by Apple and Google parent company Alphabet. The aim of this alliance is to fight against the automated phone calls. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is heading this alliance, known as Robocall Strike Force. The first meeting on the subject was held in Washington, DC by the independent agency today.

The report has revealed that Cook -- during a trip to China -- made a commitment to Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli that Apple’s first Asia-Pacific R&D center will be built in China by the end of 2016.
