On Saturday evening, many spectators throughout the Northeast US saw a fireball, also called a quite bright meteor, flying across the sky at nearly 6:16 pm.

One of the spectators, Alex Salvador was driving in Falls Church, Virginia, when suddenly he noticed the fireball and captured it on his dashcam.

While describing the sighting to ABC News, Salvador said, “Startling. Even unnerving, maybe. It seemed close, big, and definitely on fire with a tail”.

Moon passes through five visible planets this week

Sky watchers can watch the Moon passing through all five planets, viz. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter, which are visible to the naked eye these days.

Jupiter is now rising at around 8:40 p.m. in the east, close to the rear legs of the constellation Leo. The bright planet is easily visible to the naked eye at magnitude of -2.4. Before dawn, the planet can be seen in the west-southwestern sky.
