Warriors Lose Tough Game 4

After the end of the regular season of the 2017-18 NBA season, one team that continue to look like it could have a deep playoff run was the Golden State Warriors. This team has won two of the last three NBA titles and looked like they were going to be well-positioned to make a deep playoff run. While they did not win the regular-season title in the Western Conference, the team seemed to get a good first-round matchup with the San Antonio Spurs.

For the past few years, the Spurs have been one of the biggest challenges that the Warriors have routinely had. However, this past season was a unique one for the Spurs and the team had a lot of struggles. These struggles continued late into the season as one of their key players, Kahwi Leonard, missed a lot of time due to injuries.

Through the first few games of the first round between the Warriors and the Spurs, the Warriors ended up winning each game and took a commanding 3 games to 0 lead over the Spurs. While most people expected that the Warriors would end up winning game 4 and walking away with a sweep, things are not exactly expected as the Spurs made a dramatic effort and ended up beating the Warriors by 13 points (https://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2018/4/22/17268482/final-score-2018-pl...).

Overall, the San Antonio Spurs played a very good game and looked extremely solid throughout the entire match. However, much of the reason for the outcome of the game was also due to sloppy play of the Warriors. The team ended up getting down pretty early in the game due to a variety of turnovers and missed shots. Overall, the team turned the ball over 5 times in the first 6 minutes of the game and had a hard time getting their cohesion back in place.

After Game 4, the momentum appears to belong to the Spurs. As the team continues to rally behind it coach, they will look for new ways to beat the Warriors. However, the Spurs have a tough road ahead as they will need to win each of the next three games. This includes two that will be played in Oakland where the Warriors have been very hard to beat. For the Spurs to continue to beat the Warriors, they will need to be able to continue to contain Kevin Durant, which is a task no team has been able to handle.
