LA Entrepreneurs Don Ressler and Adam Goldenberg Are Reinventing How We Think About Technology and Fashion

Techstyle Fashion Group, which includes a number of membership-based clothing, beauty or accessory companies, was founded by Don Ressler and Adam Goldenberg, two guys who once knew very little about fashion. What they always did possess was a strong drive to succeed and the keen awareness of what consumers are seeking.

The Road to Success: The History of Don Ressler and Adam Goldenberg
Adam Goldenberg entered the business world at the tender age of 15. His first company, Gamers Alliance, was an advertising network designed for gaming websites. That company was sold to Intermix Media in 1999, and Goldenberg ended up dropping out of high school to become Vice President of Strategic Planning for Intermix. He was the Chief Operating Officer of Intermix by the age of 20.

Don Ressler’s path to joining Intermix was similar. His website, FitnessHeaven.com was sold to Intermix in 2011, and by that time, he had done well raising capital for a variety of online companies. This was also a big part of what inspired him to dip his toes into the world of fashion, according to an interview with Don.

While working together at Intermix, Ressler and Goldenberg became friends. Their friendship continued to grow, and in 2006, they started an e-commerce company called Intelligent Beauty and went on to create other successful brands as well. It was through working on these various companies that they began to brainstorm a new way of shopping online. They knew trendy, comfortable clothing was in high demand, and they also knew that most consumers didn’t have an easy method for finding personalized fashion.

Trendy Fashion with a Personal Touch: The Creation of Techstyle
Techstyle’s first company was JustFab , a membership-based clothing company that allows members to receive personalized athletic clothing and accessories each month. The company also demonstrates how to mix and match fashion pieces, making it easier for members to find confidence with their personal style preferences.

JustFab’s funding came from a venture capitalist known as Matrix Partners, who also went on to put more funding into Intelligent Beauty. In 2016, JustFab went through a rebranding process and became Techstyle, named for the way Goldenberg and Ressler’s companies tend to blend fashion and technology into one. Since both Ressler and Goldenberg have a history in digital commerce , it made sense to give the company a new tech-friendly name.

Techstyle: A Place Unlike Any Other
Techstyle has been described as a place where “Fashion Avenue meets Silicon Valley.” The headquarters resemble the colorful and modern work spaces you would find in many Silicon Valley startups, but the focus on fashion is easy to recognize.

Another factor that makes Techstyle stand out is Goldenberg and Ressler’s commitment to social responsibility. The focus isn’t only on making money and running a successful corporation. It’s about improving lives. Techstyle’s clothing can make women feel more confident about the way they look when running, dancing or hitting the gym. People who are confident and healthy all make greater contributions to society.

Techstyle is also committed to giving back to the community. They have taken part in community gardens and other projects and hosted a number of charity events, including an event for the Cinderella Project, a charity group that donates gowns and accessories for low-income students who are struggling to attend their own proms.

The Future of Techstyle: Where Goldenberg and Ressler Will Go From Here
It can’t be denied that these two driven entrepreneurs have a lot of potential to continue seeing success or to even start more companies in the future, but for now, they will continue to focus their efforts on making Techstyle a top source of clothing and accessories for women around the world. All in keeping with the TechStyle mission statement, of making activewear that looks great, makes it's wearer feel great, but that isn't going to break the bank.
