Samsung details Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus’ design, display and more

In a newly published blog post, Samsung has detailed how its recently introduced new flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, were designed.

The South Korean smartphone maker earlier today provided details on all the major design features of the two flagship handsets.

With the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, the manufacturer has moved away from the existing screen aspect ratio of 16:9, minimizing bezels and maximizing available space. The new “Infinity Display” has a promising aspect ratio of 18.5:9, which makes it is significantly taller than a usual 16:9 display.

Meanwhile, a report has suggested that the Galaxy S8 has got a flashy new launcher, which is not available on the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge. It is possible that the company may update the home screen apps on current handsets to get them all on the same page.

For those who do not want to wait or wonder what it could be like, someone has managed to extract the APK from the new flagships to allow owners of the existing handsets to download this new and enhanced launcher right now. However, some experts have cautioned that it might e tricky as well as risky.
