Knox Medical to start dispensing medical marijuana in Florida

After being permitted by the Florida Department of Health earlier this week, Knox Medical is now preparing to dispense low-THC and medical marijuana to qualified patients in the state.

The company announced on Tuesday that it could begin initial deliveries of medical marijuana to qualified patients as soon as Friday this week.

Knox Medical is one of the six companies or groups in Florida that have been permitted by state regulators to cultivate, process and dole out low-THC cannabis as well as medical marijuana to qualified patients.

Bruce Knox, co-founder and COO for Knox Medical, said, “Our team of growers, engineers, researchers, and experts have prepared for this exact moment … We are honored to have this privilege to serve our fellow Floridians who require compassionate medical relief.”

The company has plans to open five up to date medical marijuana dispensaries in Orlando, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Gainesville and Lake Worth in early 2017.

Meanwhile, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson is set to announce members of the state Medical Marijuana Commission as soon as this Wednesday. In November, state voters approved a proposal legalizing sale and use of medical marijuana for patients with conditions like cancer, glaucoma, Alzheimer’s disease and hepatitis C.
