Huawei announces new Nova and Nova Plus mid-range handsets

During its press conference at the 2016 IFA event in Berlin, Chinese device manufacturer Huawei announced two mid-range handsets comprising the company's new 'Nova' smartphone lineup --- the Nova; and the Nova Plus.

The attractively-designed new Nova and Nova Plus handsets are respectively 5-inch and 5.5-inch smartphones, powered by Android OS version 6.0 'Marshmallow.' Both the handsets are scheduled for launch in a total of 50 countries across the world in October.

The cost of the Nova handset will be _400; while the Nova Plus handset will be priced at _430. The handsets will be available in Silver, Gold, and Grey color options; with the Nova to be available in an additional Rose Gold color as well.

The new Nova and Nova Plus handsets are sleek-looking devices with diamond-cut edges. The design language which Huawei has used for the handsets is quite familiar, with an aluminum frame unfolding a unique curved build which has curves on all sides as well as the back.

Some of the key specifications of the Nova and Nova Plus handsets include 1080p LCD displays; Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC; 3GB of RAM; fingerprint scanner; and 32GB of onboard storage capacity. The Nova handset will be equipped with a 3,020 mAh battery and feature a 12-megapixel rear camera; while the Nova Plus will come with a 3,340 mAh battery and a 16-megapixel rear camera. Both handsets will have 8-megapixel front-facing cameras.
